Hi, it’s me, Illy with X-Force Body, and I’m about to expose a myth that will probably surprise you. The truth is, protein is only minimally important for building muscle.
I know – all the body-building fanatics and muscle magazines beat the drum of high-protein eating. But they have been misled . . . badly misled.
Facts are facts, and the fact is you don’t need much protein to build muscle. Calories and water are more important to the muscle-building process than protein.
This is very serious, because your kidneys and liver will have to work overtime to process extra amounts of protein. And that will make you feel sluggish. A little extra protein is okay, but don’t go overboard – whether it’s from food or supplements – because it’s not safe for your liver and kidneys.
Only intense exercise – like the kind you get twice a week at X-Force Body – stimulates the process of expanding muscle fibers . . . which leads to muscle growth. And stronger muscles make you burn more calories and melt more fat. An excess of dietary protein won’t make that happen. Someone has to tell you the truth. And that’s what I’m here for.
